About the opportunity
Are you ready to launch your career in finance while making a meaningful impact in your community? Murray River Council is offering three exciting trainee positions for motivated individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a high-performing team.
As a trainee, you’ll combine formal study with hands-on experience, working alongside experienced professionals in our Financial Services team. Each role offers a unique focus area and location, but all share the same goal: to help you build a strong foundation for a rewarding career.
Available Trainee Roles
· Trainee Finance Officer – Based in Moama, Barham or Moulamein
Support accounts payable, sundry debtors, and general finance operations while studying towards a Certificate III in Accounts Administration or Certificate IV in Financial Services.
· Trainee Payroll Officer – Based in Barham
Assist the payroll team in ensuring accurate and timely employee payments, maintaining records, and understanding award conditions—all while gaining your qualification.
· Trainee Rates & Revenue Officer – Preference for Moulamein. Moama or Barham considered.
Join the revenue team to support rates and water billing operations, data entry, and customer service, while completing your formal training.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking enthusiastic, community-minded individuals who are:
Committed to completing a 24-month traineeship and formal qualification.
Confident communicators with strong problem-solving skills.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office and keen to learn new systems.
Professional, respectful, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team.
Hold a current Driver’s Licence and can pass a National Police Check.
