Join Our Team in Coffs Harbour - Make a Lasting Impact!

Are you passionate about supporting children, young people, and families to thrive? We are seeking a committed and community-minded individual to join our Connect team in Coffs Harbour as a First Nations Identified Child, Youth and Family Worker.

This is a rewarding opportunity for both experienced candidates, and emerging professionals (trainee) who are eager to grow their skills in case work, therapeutic group facilitation, and community engagement.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

As part of our Family Mental Health Support Service (Connect), you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people experiencing emerging mental health challenges. Through a combination of case management, group work, and outreach, you will help improve long-term mental health outcomes for families in the Coffs Harbour region.

We welcome applications from experienced candidates and those starting out, including people with formal qualifications or cultural knowledge and community- based experience. There are two entry points (level 5 or Trainee), with support provided in both pathways through culturally respectful, two-way learning.

If you've supported young people through cultural practice, helped families stay strong, led yarning spaces, or carried responsibilities in community, we consider these experiences just as important as formal training.

We encourage you to bring these strengths into your application, and we're here to yarn with you about how they can be recognised.

The position will be based in our Coffs Harbour office, however the successful candidate will also be required to visit clients in the home, out in the community, and in local primary and high schools.

The use of your own personal vehicle will also be required if a pool car is not available. All kilometres will be reimbursed as per the Enterprise Agreement when using your own personal vehicle.

This is a Fixed-term position until 30 June 2026, working 22.5 hours per week, with the flexibility to negotiate your working days. Some weekend work may also be required to attend community events from time to time.

The classification of this position for a candidate with qualifications and/or experience in case work, therapeutic group facilitation, and community engagement in reference to the SCHADS Award is a Level 5. The hourly rate is $55.10ph, plus 12% superannuation.

The classification of this position for a candidate who is yet to develop the required skills, and experience will be considered a Trainee. In reference to the SCHADS Award, this position would be considered to be a level 2. The hourly rate is $39.00ph, plus 12% superannuation.
