We are looking for a well-connected community member to join our Children and Family team. The Aboriginal Health and Family Support Worker (AHFSW) contributes to reducing family violence, sexual assault and child abuse in Aboriginal communities, and to strengthen families and communities.
In this role full of variety, you will:
Yarn and listen - build trust and create a safe space for people to share their stories and make sense of their experiences.
Organise and contribute to culturally safe community education activities, workshops, and forums on health, wellbeing, and safety.
Build relationships and maintain regular liaison with government and non-government agencies to coordinate care and share information (within legal and confidentiality requirements).

This is a part-time (45.6 hours per fortnight), fixed term contract for a 3-month period. The role will be based in our Deniliquin office.
The role is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award Level 4.1, with an hourly starting salary of $44.58 plus superannuation and access to salary packaging benefits.
Please note that travel will be required as part of this role and working outside normal hours may be required from time to time.

You will also require:
Current Working with Children Check for NSW
Current Drivers Licence
Criminal Record Check (Intereach will organise and support with the completion of this, which will be facilitated by our chosen provider)
Relevant University or TAFE qualification/s in Social Work or an interdisciplinary field of practice such as Psychology, Allied Health, Welfare, Community Services, or Early Childhood and/or extensive experience in an identified role working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
Completion of Certificate IV in Aboriginal Family Health (Family Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Protection)
