Job location
Our Corporate Office is located at Thomas Embling Hospital just 15 minutes north of the city. Due to our announced expansion across all Directorates, we have a need for experienced like-minded professionals to join our team to support our growing services. Our Directorates includes Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison Operations and our Community Directorate with highly skilled disciplines including Nursing, Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychologists and Social Work.
About the Role:
The role of Talent Engagement Specialist supports the Talent Acquisition Team to deliver best practice Talent Acquisition strategies. This role will be all things Candidate Experience. It will manage all onboarding processes through to first day, including contract generation, Working Rights, Qualification, police and immunisation checks. It will process all immigration Visa sponsorship requirements and support regular engagement with Talent Pools for future workforce planning.
Duties:
- Manage the onboarding process, compliant with Forensicare policies and procedures including:
- Generation of employment contracts for new staff.
- Process criminal history checks and maintain an accurate record of Fit2Work and National and International Police Certificates.
- Process all required onboarding documentation including liaison with Immunisation Control to ensure position requirements are met
- Administration of Immigration process and tracking of Sponsorship database
- Manage all communication during onboarding and immigration process
- Develop and manage Forensicare’s conference, exhibition and job fair engagement database to ensure tracking, ROI and appropriate investment in conferences is being achieved.
About You:
- Relevant Human Resource, Business or Marketing qualification is desirable or with demonstrated skills.
- Experience in engagement and management of the people experience during onboarding
- Experience in interpreting enterprise agreements
- Contract management experience
- Highly developed HRIS systems experience, ideally Dayforce
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform with limited supervision.

Our story
Forensicare (Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health) is the state-wide specialist provider of forensic mental health services in Victoria. Forensicare is the only agency in Victoria that provides clinical forensic mental health services which span all components of the mental health and criminal justice sectors – giving Forensicare a unique perspective on mental health and public safety issues. It is able to provide specialist forensic mental health services tailored to meet the specific needs of both sectors.
We provide forensic mental health services for people:
with a serious mental illness in the criminal justice system
at risk of offending who pose a risk to themselves or others
referred from the general mental health system for specialist advice, support and/or treatment.
Forensicare’s primary focus is the provision of clinical services within a recovery framework. These services include the effective assessment, treatment and management of forensic patients, prisoners and clients.
