About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teachers' Assistant to join our Creative Design department at Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston, TAS. This part-time role will provide support to our teaching staff in delivering engaging and enriching design-focused lessons to our students.
Hours of work are Tuesday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm for each academic week of the year.
What you'll be doing
Assist teachers in the delivery of creative design lessons, workshops and projects
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance
Prepare and maintain classroom materials, resources and equipment
Help with the set-up and pack-down of creative design activities and spaces
Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance the creative design curriculum
Collaborate with teaching staff to identify and address individual student needs
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills
What we're looking for
Relevant experience as a Teachers' Assistant or in a similar support role
Strong interest and aptitude in creative design subjects such as art, graphics or digital media
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and teachers
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students' learning and development
Relevant qualifications in wood and/or metal trade are desirable.
Experience of CNC Technology, CNC Router, 3D Printer, Laser Cutter and emerging technology and digital technology.
A valid Working with Children Check is required before commencement
