Our Federal Government Client is an independent agency that promotes efficiency and increased transparency in the delivery and funding of public health and aged care services across Australia.
The Hospital Policy and Classification Branch is responsible for developing policies and classifications that support efficient and transparent health system funding, planning and research through ABF in consultation with clinical, technical and jurisdictional stakeholders.
The Role:
The APS6 Project Officer position is located within the Hospital Policy and Classification Branch. The Acute Care Classifications section is responsible for the ongoing refinement and management of the Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRG) classification and the underpinning ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classification system.
This position assists in the management of administrative and project facilitation functions within the Acute Care Classifications section, including the contract and procurement processes that support the development of the ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS and AR-DRG classification systems.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Assist with project planning, implementation, and progress reporting
- Provide administrative support for projects, recruitment, contracts, procurement and manage shared mailboxes
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate committee and consultation paper approvals and distribution
- Draft documents and correspondence using agreed formats
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for projects and contracts
- Update section website and manage filing
- Support other classification development projects as required
- Perform additional tasks as delegated

- Analytical, with sound judgement and problem-solving
- Proactive in handling complex administrative tasks.
- Experienced in developing operational and administrative documents.
- Adaptable to changing requirements.
- Consistently applies and improves processes and frameworks.
- Proficient with Office365 and Microsoft Teams (intermediate level).
- Relevant qualifications in project management, business or public administration
- Knowledge and experience with government procurement processes
