Speech Pathologist (Primarily Literacy Caseload)
The Helipad - Speech Pathology
Posted 8 days ago
The Helipad has niched out into the literacy space, as this is where our passion is. If you are interested in working in the literacy area, we may be a great fit for you! Sounds Write training will be provided as well as morphology professional development (e.g. Lyn Stone's workshops). Hailey Barratt, The Helipad's founder, is passionate about literacy and she has a wealth of knowledge in this area. She will provide ongoing training and supervision. There are also opportunities to develop your skills in other speech pathology areas if this is of interest to you.
You will be joining a team of three speech pathologists and a fantastic receptionist at our clinic in Hoppers Crossing. We all work closely together, share resources and support each other. We have a shared office space, with everyone having their own dedicated desk, and the same working hours so it is very easy for us to all work together!
The Role:
Working with children aged between 2 to 15 years of age
Predominantly a literacy and language caseload, however there will be opportunities to develop your skill set in other speech pathology areas (e.g. early intervention, speech)
Clinic based, however childcare, kinder and school visits may be required
Implementing speech, language and literacy assessments and interventions
6 weeks of annual leave a year
Work from home on Fridays
For new graduates, moving to a full caseload (23 clients scheduled per week) within 9-12 months
Start date: Can be negotiated, ideally December 2025 or January 2026
What We Offer:
An extremely supportive work environment, with opportunities to develop your skills in the literacy space (and into other speech pathology areas if you desire!)
Initial comprehensive onboarding (e.g. meeting more regularly with clinical director; discussing session plans and goals before initial sessions with new clients)
Ongoing support and training, including weekly 1:1 supervision
Clinical director is accessible to provide support and supervision outside of weekly supervision times
Ongoing professional development opportunities and an annual professional development budget
Extensive range of resources available and an annual allowance to purchase further materials
Everyone has their own clinic room filled with toys and resources
High staff retention
