About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Greek-speaking Cook to contribute to the wellbeing and comfort of our residents at our St Albans facility.
The day-to-day responsibilities
- Assist in ensuring provision of nutritional, culturally relevant and well-presented food to the elderly residents
- Provide high quality hospitality catering services to the care recipients of the facility
- Prepare and cook foods of all types, keeping in mind the cultural requirements and preferences of the residents as well as taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of produce & ingredients.
- Oversee all documentation and monitoring records are completed accurately, signed and filed daily.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.
What success looks like for this role
- Qualifications in Hospitality or working towards some aligned and relevant qualification; and demonstrated prior experience working as a cook in a commercial kitchen, ideally with a background in Greek cuisine
- Familiarity with aged care systems and aged care processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Empathy with the elderly’s needs
- National Police Check
