Cirka Catering is on an exciting growth trajectory, underpinned by our upcoming takeover as the provider of café and catering services across all campuses for the Box Hill Institute in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

We are looking for a driven, organised and passionate Cook to work in our onsite kitchen and catering teams at the below location for our Cirka88 branded cafe and function activity.

Working at a leading TAFE, Box Hill Institute, this is a casual role working primarily between the hours of 6:30am-4:00pm Mon-Wed. Working alongside a team of Sous Chefs, Kitchen Attendants, Catering Attendants and FOH staff.

As a Cook with Cirka, some of your responsibilities will include.

Performing general cooking duties for both dine in and grab’n’go offerings (savoury wraps, sandwiches, bagels, salads, pasta dishes, sweet slices, muffins etc.)

Excellent communication with front of house team to ensure cabinets at cafe are replenished throughout service.

Stepping in to help the front of house team serve customers at peak times.

Assist the Chef Manager with management of costs against agreed budgets (including wastage and labour).

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and ensure compliance regarding all food-related practices & procedures.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate that you have:

Previous experience as a Kitchen Attendant or Cook in a similar fast-paced, customer-focused environments and hold a Food Safety Handling certificate.

Good problem solving and decision-making skills, able to work autonomously.

Understanding of budget management and cost control and knowledge of safe working processes and practices.

Current Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
