The Corporate Services Division incorporates governance, finance, legal, risk, information technology, property and logistics. The focus of the Division is to ensure Cancer Council’s Corporate Services operate to the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness to ensure compliance and support the organisation to deliver on its Strategic Priorities. The Division also works to ensure the protection and optimisation of the Council’s financial and business assets, and reputation.
Part of Corporate Services Division, the IT team includes Digital services, Operations, CRM, and the newly formed Digital Transformation and AI Team.

About your opportunity
We are seeking a Generative AI Engineer to join the Corporate Services Division. Reporting to the Digital Transformation and AI Program Manager your role is to build intelligent, ethical, and impactful solutions that make a real difference in helping advance our mission to reduce the burden of cancer for all people.
- Leverage Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, and other Microsoft AI tools to deliver impactful solutions.
- Fine-tune and assess pre-trained models using inclusive and ethically sourced datasets
- Deploy models into production environments using MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) best practices.
- Monitor, evaluate, and retrain models to maintain accuracy, fairness, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Cancer Council Victoria, starting with Cancer Support Services, and expanding to other business units across areas such as Strategy and Support, Prevention, Cancer Epidemiology, and Corporate Services.

We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience in machine learning or AI engineering roles.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with key machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure AI tools, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure Data Factory.
- Solid understanding of large language models (LLMs) and practical experience with generative AI frameworks such as GPT, Hugging Face Transformers, BERT, GANs, and Stable Diffusion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated by the ability to build productive relationships across multiple business units.
