Work Skills is a privately owned Registered Training Organisation. We specialise in delivering nationally recognised qualifications throughout Queensland.

We require a full time Automotive Mechanical Trainer (light an/ or heavy vehicle experience)

Duties & responsibilities

The job role entails servicing approximately 70 students throughout the Brisbane and Queensland region: The role requires you to book appointments in the automotive workplaces and train the apprentice/trainee in the subject being studied (following the learning guide we provide). The local appointments are generally every 4-6 weeks, the regional students are generally every 3 months.

There will be some away from home travel (no more than a week at a time) and there will be "working from home days", completing electronic training, marking students work and planning and preparation.

This role requires that you have:

An automotive qualification as an automotive light vehicle mechanic or heavy vehicle

Advantage is experience in automotive electrical

You are required to have completed a certificate IV in training and assessment TAE40116. If you do not have this, we help you enrol and complete this qualification as part of your new career journey

This position is ideally suited to an individual with the following skills:

A desire for education and training

Competent computer skills (you are trained in video training techniques)

Current industry experience and knowledge is essential

The ability to build relationships with Employers, Supervisors and Apprentices

Ensure that a high level of quality training is delivered

Able to adapt to different work environments

Be willing to accept change

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Remain calm under pressure with a solution focused approach to all tasks

Ability to travel throughout Queensland
