A Large Family owned and operated Transport company based on the Sunshine Coast is looking for an experienced heavy vehicle fleet mechanics to maintain their heavy commercial vehicles.

These are permanent full time positions with a 38 hour week plus overtime as required

The Fleet Mechanic’s duties and responsibilities include:

· Perform repair and maintenance of our trucks, trailers and other equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.

· Perform detailed inspections of vehicles and equipment and correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventive maintenance on company owned equipment.

· Perform fabrication and repair component parts.

· Identify and repair or report worn or failed components, etc.

· Maintain accurate records (time, repair orders and parts usage) on computer.

· Work reasonable overtime when required

Skills and Experience Required

To be eligible for this role, applicants must:

possess an Australian Certificate III as a Diesel Motor Mechanic (Heavy Commercial Vehicles) or recognised equivalent.

minimum 5 years’ experience

have basic experience in welding processes

have experience in thermal cutting processes

Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs to basic wiring, control wiring and hydraulic systems.

Full drivers license – HR licence is preferred

Self-motivated and able to work independently as required

Remuneration$76,15 - $83,000 a year(Dependent on Skills and Experience)Enquiries
