Senior Associate or Special Counsel - Defendant Professional Indemnity / Financial Lines Insurance

Location: Brisbane CBD

Are you experienced in Defendant General Insurance Law and interested in working at an impressive national firm?

This reputable Insurance team works on litigated claims for a number of major local and international insurers in a wide variety of industries. Some of your work would include professional indemnity, management liability and advising on directors and officers policies. You will also act in the defense of a variety of professionals including barristers, accountants, liquidators, insurance brokers, engineers, architects and more.

If you are:

An admitted lawyer in QLD with a minimum of 4 years' experience in General Insurance we would love to hear from you. This role is open to experienced Senior Associates or Special Counsels, however, if you are an experienced Associate knocking on the door of Senior Associate, then this could be your opportunity to take that next step.

Daily duties include:

Managing client interaction and having daily carriage of your files;

Working with a National team of lawyers and being able to mentor junior team members;

Reviewing documents and preparing best evidence in line with case theory;

Drafting various forms of correspondence to the Court and third parties and clients;

Attend Conferencing with witnesses and preparing witness statements;

Work with Counsel from time to time;

Attend Court and mentor juniors to do same; and

Provide instructions to experts.
