About the role

Heidelberg Mowers is seeking a diligent and experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our repair workshop in Heidelberg Heights, Victoria. As the Workshop Manager, you will lead a team of skilled technicians and mechanics to ensure the timely and high-quality servicing and repair of our range of lawn mowers and garden equipment. This full-time position is essential in maintaining the company's reputation for exceptional customer service.

What you'll be doing

Manage the daily operations of the repair workshop, including scheduling work, allocating resources, and monitoring productivity

Provide technical guidance and support to the service team, ensuring all repairs are completed to a high standard

Liaise with customers to understand their needs, diagnose problems, and provide maintenance recommendations

Oversee the maintenance of workshop equipment and tools, ensuring they are well-maintained and in safe working order

Implement and enforce workshop policies, procedures, and safety protocols to maintain a safe and compliant work environment

Prepare and submit reports on workshop performance, including customer feedback, productivity metrics, and budget management

Contribute to the continuous improvement of workshop operations, identifying and implementing efficiency-enhancing measures

Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of the service team

What we're looking for

Demonstrated experience in a similar Workshop Manager or Senior Mechanic role, preferably within the lawn and garden equipment industry

Strong technical knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers

Proven leadership and team management experience, including the ability to motivate and develop a team of technicians

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

Proficient in the use of workshop management software and tools

Current driver's licence and the ability to operate a range of workshop equipment and machinery
