Are you a people-person with a passion for healthcare and an eye for detail? We’re seeking an experienced Senior Medical Receptionist to become the warm, organised, and reliable presence at the heart of our clinic. This role goes beyond front desk work – You’ll be a key part our patient care experience and clinic operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the first point of contact for our patients, you’ll set the tone for their entire experience. More than just answering phones or booking appointments, you’ll be the organisational heartbeat of the clinic – ensuring every interaction runs smoothly, every patient feels genuinely cared for, and every detail is handled with professionalism and compassion.

This is a full-time role (38 hours per week - Monday to Friday) with flexible work arrangements available. We welcome applicants interested in a 4- day workweek or a 9-day fortnight.

Patient Support & Experience

· Welcome patients with warmth and empathy

· Manage a busy phone system and triage enquiries confidently

· Book and manage appointments with accuracy

· Check patients in and out while maintaining up-to-date records

· Coordinate patient recalls and reminders, and support patients in navigating our services

Billing & Financial Administration

· Process EFTPOS, Medicare, DVA and Workcover payments

· Maintain accurate daily billing and invoicing

· Follow up outstanding accounts with professionalism

Administrative & Operational Duties

· Maintain confidential patient records and clinic documentation

· Scan, upload and organise clinical notes and correspondence

· Manage mail, email and faxes

· Support daily clinic open and close procedures

· Ensure reception area is clean, organised and welcoming

· Liaise with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and external providers

What You’ll Bring

· Proven experience in medical reception is essential (3-5 years)

· Medical Director Clinical and Medical Director Pracsoft experience highly desirable

· Typing speed of 60+ words per minute with high spelling accuracy is essential

· Excellent communication and multitasking skills

· Strong attention to detail and patient-focused mindset

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinic

· Knowledge of MyMedicare and Medicare Australia is highly regarded

· Knowledge or experience with AGPAL accreditation standards is highly regarded

Salary & Benefits

· Hourly Rate: $30-36 per hour

· Equivalent to $56K-$71K annually based on 38 Hours/week

· Flexibility with 4-day workweek or 9-day fortnight
