The Catholic Diocese of Lismore is seeking applications for an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Coordinator for our service located in Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School (East Lismore).

About the Coordinator role

The appointee will lead a team of Educators who provide this important OSHC service for our community's students, parents and schools. The service supports the families of up to 29 children at any time with before/after school care plus school holiday programs.

Remuneration

The remuneration package for this role is $96,600, inclusive of base salary/allowance ($86,252) and 12% superannuation ($10,350). Broken shift allowance and other penalties, where applicable, is paid in addition to this salary rate. Pro-rata for part-time appointment.

Key responsibilities

Lead the OSHC service located within the grounds of Our Lady Help of Christians Primary School in East Lismore.

Support the families of up to 29 children at any time with before and after school care plus busy school holiday programs.

Build meaningful connections with the parent community, parish and school to ensure the service is represented, respected, promoted and growing.

Ensure safeguarding requirements are strictly adhered to and strong risk management practices are maintained.

Responsible for the day to day running of the services, including child supervision, compliance, finance, recruitment and management of staff and program development.

Lead the delivery of stable and happy environment for children within the Catholic culture of our host schools.

Provide each child with a diverse range of outside school recreation and leisure play based activities. Continually review and enhance the services.

The appointee will be the Nominated Supervisor for the service.

This service is one of ten OSHC services that operate as part of the Catholic Diocese of Lismore. The Coordinator reports directly to a dedicated OSHC Operations Manager based in Lismore.

Selection Criteria

4+ years childcare experience and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent (or willing to obtain within 12 months).

A sound knowledge and understanding of the NQF, NQS and the School Age Learning Framework and Child Care Subsidy system.

Ability to ensure the service practices align with compliance requirements.

Strong knowledge in safeguarding principles and demonstrated experience managing the safety of children in a care setting.

Demonstrated ability to bring collaborative leadership to the role, form relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders in a childcare context.

Excellent computer, communication, time management and organisational skills.

The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain prior to commencement: Current First Aid Qualification specific for early childhood settings (HLTAID012/HLTAID004); Child Protection Training (CHCPRT025 or equivalent); NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
