Opportunity to grow your legal career & learn within a busy, dynamic & supportive law firm who put their employees first.

Ready to Elevate Your Legal Career in a Supportive, Fast-Growing Law Firm?

At JS Law Group, we’re more than just a law firm—we’re a family & we’re committed to looking after our employees. Since launching in 2018, we’ve grown & doubled our business year-on-year while building a friendly culture that values work-life balance alongside teamwork, integrity and high standards. We specialise in Wills, Estates & Probate, Property Law (primarily Conveyancing & Leasing) and Commercial Law —and we're growing fast.

Our partner company, Mint Invest, is one of Australia’s fastest-growing property investment firms. Their cutting-edge technology and high volume of engaged clients keeps our work fast-moving and dynamic. In this role, you’ll also collaborate with their Acquisitions and Mortgage teams, adding variety and momentum to your day.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a talented, committed & driven lawyer to join our team immediately (mid to late September 2025 or early to mid-October 2025). You’ll work 20-30 hours per week over 3-5 days. We can be flexible with working days & hours. Enjoy the flexibility to work both in-office (Neutral Bay) and remotely from home!

The Principal Solicitor will absolutely mentor and support you as much as you need, but the less you need her, the better. This is mostly an autonomous role.

Key Benefits:

Up to $20K Property Purchase Assistance – Buy your first home or investment property through Mint Invest’s builder network.

Career Pathway – There are plenty of opportunities to grow with us.

Balanced Flexibility – You’ll enjoy autonomy & work remotely, but we also expect accountability, dedication & high standards.

Team Support – Admin support, plus onboarding and systems training if needed.

Competitive Remuneration – Including generous commissions for bringing in new clients.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re not looking for someone chasing an ultra-flexible lifestyle role or just “getting by.” We’re building a tight-knit, high-performing team—and we’re looking for someone who:

Takes pride in their work and goes the extra mile.

Thrives under pressure and can be relied on when things get busy.

Can work autonomously & takes responsibility for their work, but contributes positively to the broader team.

Understands the value of flexibility, but doesn’t expect to coast.

Wants to be part of something long-term and meaningful.

Is humble, hard-working and values both professionalism and people.

Has fantastic computer & IT skills.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Run Estate Planning Matters: Prepare simple & complex Wills, POAs, and Enduring Guardianships with minimal to no supervision & explain these documents to the client. Prepare Trusts, Letters of Administration & Probate with minimal to no supervision.

Predominantly manage Conveyancing Files: Handle residential (mostly purchase & some sale) files end-to-end across NSW, QLD, WA and Vic with minimal to no supervision, including preparing letters of advice, contracts of sale & managing & preparing files for settlement using SettleIT via Infotrack.

Some purchases are done using the client's SMSF as the borrower (requiring a corporate trustee of a bare trust as the purchaser on the COS).

Experience providing clients with independent legal advice on the above loan documents will also be highly regarded.

Support Commercial & other Property Law (Leasing) Clients:

Handle purchase/sale of business files end-to-end in NSW with minimal to no supervision.

Review & provide letters of advice on Retail & Commercial Leases & negotiating changes, preparing Retail & Commercial Leases & advising on Lease disputes.

It will also be beneficial for you to have a good understanding of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) & the Retail Leases Act 1994 (NSW).

Administrative work, as needed: Opening matters, taking file notes, taking fees up front in our trust account from clients, preparing Costs Agreements & Invoices to be sent to the client.

Assist with overseeing and managing trust accounting in compliance with law practice regulations.

Help Us Grow: Build trust with clients, bring in new ones (and earn commissions) and contribute to our growth.

What You’ll Bring:

1-2+ Years PQE, admitted in NSW. Restricted or unrestricted practising certificate (Unrestricted is preferred).

Experienced in Wills, Estates & Probate, Property Law, Conveyancing & Leasing & Commercial Law.

Confident managing Conveyancing files across multiple states (mostly NSW, QLD, WA & Vic) & Wills & Estates files from start to finish.

Must have:

Great computer & IT skills (including Outlook, MS Office & MS Teams);

Great customer service & interpersonal skills. We place great importance on looking after our clients & building strong, long-term relationships with them to generate repeat business; and

Attentive to detail;

A calm, capable & solutions-focused mindset with excellent communication, multi-tasking & time management skills.

Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in overseeing & managing trust accounting and compliance within a law firm.

Access to a PC laptop (desirable but not essential).

Bonus: Experience with Smokeball and InfoTrack (desirable but not essential).

Send your CV, a short cover letter outlining your experience, and 2 recent employer references.

Start Date: Immediate (mid to late September 2025 or early to mid-October 2025).

Interviews Begin: From September 2025

Successful candidates will complete a short trial task and references will be checked.

We encourage strong candidates to apply even if you're viewing this post later in the year—we’re always on the lookout for great people!
