Your new company
Client is a specialist construction consultancy offering professional construction services across management, project management and quantity surveying. As result of continued growth they are looking to hire an experienced PQS from similar consultancy environment.

Your new role
The role is a traditional client-side PQS role. It will involve working alongside the Director but still managing own workload. Projects are mix of multi-res, aged care, hospitality, plus some government panel work in health and education.

Role will involve preparing cost plans and estimates, Bill of Quantities, progress claims and variations assessments, monthly cost reports and cashflow forecasts and getting out to site to help manage the main contractor by undertaking valuations of work completed.

The role is client facing, so requires an effective positive, proactive communication style.

What you'll need to succeed
The client is looking for an experienced PQS. Candidates will either be tertiary qualified in quantity surveying or construction management and will ideally have experience working for a similar PQS consultancy. If that experience is in the southeast Queensland region with network of sub-consultancies and contractors that would be a plus

The client is still boutique, so looking for someone that is engaged, hard working and passionate about helping grow the business by exceeding clients’ expectations. They are looking for someone with a willingness to get out of their lane if required to help the other teams if required.

Client does have strong preference for tertiary qualifications. Ideally Construction management or Quantity surveying. The role is intermediate QS level – or maybe SQS, suggesting 5+ years’ experience and will involve delivering some projects yourself while working to support PD on larger more complicated and higher value projects.

Suggest salary level in the 130-140k range depending on experience, but they do offer some flexibility at either end for particularly suitable candidates.
