Aboriginal Family Support Services (AFSS) is a lead, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been providing services to Aboriginal families and communities across South Australia for over 40 years.
The Manager Residential Services is responsible for the operation and management of the human, physical and financial resources of a group of Residential Services houses in metropolitan Adelaide. Residential Services provides therapeutically informed and culturally responsive care and support programs and services that facilitate the development of children and young people, who are unable to live with their families (or be placed with a foster family).
Who we are looking for
- Through appropriate monitoring, planning, promotion, and relationship strategies and activities.
- Ensure that the children and young people in care have access to resources, opportunities and facilities that enable them to engage in educational, recreational and community-based activities as appropriate.
- Ensure that the Residential Services houses are maintained as culturally responsive and therapeutically focused, welcoming and safe environments for both residents and staff.
- The incumbent will actively manage the completion of administrative tasks including data reporting and the use of AFSS processes and tools to manage workloads and priorities.
- Ensure understanding of and compliance with all current organization policies, procedures, and work practices relevant to workplace Health, Safety and Welfare in the workplace.
To be successful you will need
- Valid and full South Australian Drivers Licence
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People Certificate
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
- National Police Check
- As suitable via Psychological Suitability Assessment
- First Aid Certificate (HLATAID003/HLTAID011/HLTAID012)
- Infant safety Training Certificate
- Fire Safety Training Certificate.
- Unrestricted eligibility to work in Australia
- A degree in Social Work /Social Sciences/ Psychology or diploma in Human Services/Youth Work, together with management qualifications and/or demonstrated expertise, and significant experience in the provision of human services.
