Visitor Centre Officer
Edward River Council is seeking two (2) committed Fixed Term Visitor Centre Officers to deliver exceptional customer service and promote a welcoming experience for visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing information, assistance and ensuring a smooth visitor journey. This role collaborates with community members and stakeholders to create a positive and engaging environment, supporting the Council’s commitment to enhancing visitor satisfaction and community connections.
Position Details:
Fixed Term | Until June 30, 2026
Part Time - 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive information and expert advice on local tourism products and services.
Be the first point of contact for tourism or visitor enquiries within the Visitors Centre and across available enquiry platforms (phone, email, website enquiries).
Work with and support volunteers to provide accurate visitor information.
Process sales transactions.
Provide administrative support when required.
Maintain Visitor Centre Accreditation standards and compliance through daily operations.
Maintain the Centres policy and procedure guidelines in accordance with compliance and regulation.
Process goods and souvenir sales.
Ensure that the Visitor Information Centre and Peppin Heritage Centre maintains a high standard of displays and are well maintained.
Facilitate guided tours through the Peppin Heritage Centre.
What You Will Bring:
Contemporary experience in customer service, including a professional telephone manner.
Contemporary experience in handling financial transactions, including cash handing and till reconciliations.
Well-developed interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to carry out duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to undertake duties in a manner consistent with a culture of customer service excellence and Council’s values – Leadership, Excellence, Accountability and Delivery.
Working with Children and National Police Check or willingness to obtain
