About the role
As our Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll oversee financial compliance, reporting, and governance frameworks, ensuring accuracy and accountability in RACGP’s statutory accounts and external obligations.
Reporting to the Manager – Financial Control, you’ll manage tax, audit, treasury, and capital asset processes while leading continuous improvement of financial systems and controls. You’ll also guide a small team and apply your technical accounting expertise to support decision-making across the College.
As our Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll also
- lead the preparation of statutory accounts, tax obligations, and regulatory reporting
- manage month-end and year-end processes, including statutory audit requirements
- strengthen internal controls, financial procedures, and reporting systems
- prepare financial sections of Board and Committee papers with insights and commentary
- contribute to system upgrades and improvement projects to enhance efficiency
- collaborate across the College to build strong financial governance and compliance
Skills & Experience
- Qualified CA, CPA or equivalent with strong technical accounting expertise
- Experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit management
- Proven ability to develop financial insights and reporting for senior leadership and committees
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
