Are you passionate about supporting children, young people, and families experiencing vulnerability or family violence? We are seeking a skilled Child and Family Practitioner to join our Orange Door team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of families across the Barwon region.
About the Role
As a Child and Family Practitioner, you will:
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, safe, and effective service responses through The Orange Door.
- Support women, children, young people, and families experiencing family violence or requiring assistance with care and wellbeing.
- Apply evidence-based frameworks including the Best Interests Case Practice Model and MARAM to assess risk and plan targeted interventions.
- Deliver brief service responses such as single session work, home visits, assertive outreach, and case conferencing.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated referrals and support pathways.
Position Details
- 1 x Ongoing 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- 1 x Fixed Term 0.8 FTE working 60.4 hours per fortnight until 26 June 2026
- $101,032 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Holds a degree in Social Work (or equivalent); or be working towards in line with recommendation 209 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. Click here for more information: https://www.vic.gov.au/mandatory-minimum-qualifications-specialist-family-violence-practitioners
- Experience working with men, children and families with complex needs in any of the following service areas: Family Services, Child Protection, Family Violence, Disability, Housing, Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs.
- A sound knowledge of sector reforms, theoretical frameworks and relevant legislation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high level of organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
