Purpose of the Role
The Club Administrator will support the smooth operation of West Beach Surf Life Saving Club (WBSLSC) through a broad range of administrative, communication, and operational duties. The position plays a central role in supporting members and assisting senior volunteers with the administration of surf club operations.
The role is permanent part-time, 15 – 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to tailor these hours to suit. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, and tech-savvy and as a point of contact for club enquiries, possess strong interpersonal skills and able to work independently. Book-keeping background is highly desirable.

Position Title: Surf Club Administrator
Classification: Part-Time – Clerical Grade 3 (Registered and Licensed Clubs Award)
Hourly Rate: $35 per hour + Superannuation
Employment Type: Permanent Part-time total 15 - 20 hours per week ( 2–3 days per week negotiable)

West Beach SLSC is a vibrant volunteer-based club that provides lifesaving services, training, and surf sports programs to the Adelaide coastal community. With a strong history dating back to 1955, the club has recently undergone a major redevelopment and now boasts state-of-the-art facilities supporting over 800 members, including active patrol members, nippers, surf sports athletes, and social members.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping and Finance
Process invoices, payables, receivables and reimbursements (using Xero) for surf club operations
Work closely with the Director Finance and Book-keepers on maintaining financial records
Membership Support
Troubleshooting member registrations/ renewals and assist with general queries
Manage Working with Children Check (WWCC) processes and compliance
Issue digital membership cards and FOBS as needed
Digital & Communications
Keep the website and calendar up to date (news, events, resources)
Prepare and distribute monthly club newsletters
Assist with social media and digital engagement Support for Training & Surf Sports
General Administration
Act as a point of contact for member queries
Answer and direct phone calls and emails
Receive mail and deliveries, action or distribute accordingly
Support board, club committees and club events as required
Support inventory management by restocking merchandise, maintaining accurate stock records and coordinating orders
Send bulk communications via Surfguard, email, or SMS as required
Assist with collation and coordination of annual report
Event and Volunteer Coordination
Assist with volunteer coordination across various club activities and programs as needed
Provide administrative and logistical support as required
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Proven experience in an administrative and/or book keeping role
Strong time management and organisational skills
Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible approach
Excellent written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Tech-savvy with general IT confidence
Experience with Xero, MYOB, or similar accounting platforms
Additional Requirements
A current Working with Children Check and Police Clearance
Proof of the right to work in Australia
