About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to join our dynamic Peries IGA Supermarket Group' team. As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple store locations in the Cairns region. This is a contract role, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact within our rapidly growing retail organisation.

What you'll be doing

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for a portfolio of IGA supermarket stores

Develop and implement effective performance management strategies to drive sales, profitability and operational efficiency across your area of responsibility

Identify and address any issues or challenges within your stores, implementing corrective measures as needed

Collaborate closely with store managers to coach, mentor and support their professional development

Ensure all stores within your area comply with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the business by providing valuable insights and recommendations

What we're looking for

Experience in a multi-site retail management role, ideally within the grocery/supermarket industry

Proven track record of delivering operational excellence, driving sales growth and improving profitability across a portfolio of stores

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and develop team members

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving continuous improvement

Highly organised and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
