The Opportunity
This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal role at the forefront of health research. As a Research Program Officer within the internationally recognised Transfusion Research Unit (TRU), you’ll be part of the Blood Synergy Program – a flagship national and international collaboration driving evidence-based improvements in patient blood management, critical care, and complex transfusion needs.
In this role, you’ll:
- Contribute directly to research that informs clinical practice, healthcare policy, and patient outcomes
- Coordinate projects, prepare reports, and support regulatory and ethics processes
- Engage with diverse stakeholders including researchers, clinicians, and consumers
- Play a central part in ensuring the success of a program honoured with the Fiona Stanley Award at the NHMRC Research Excellence Awards

What you’ll need to succeed:
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders and consumers effectively
- High-level analytical and data management skills, with attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- A collaborative mindset, with the initiative to work independently when required
- An understanding of research ethics, governance and confidentiality, ideally with prior experience in clinical or health-related research
