Melbourne Lifestyle Apartments (MLA) is a boutique serviced apartment accommodation located in the vibrant Docklands precinct of Melbourne. We are committed to providing an exceptional and personalised guest experience, from initial inquiry to departure. As a member of our small and dedicated team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests feel welcomed and valued throughout their stay.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and personable Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing exceptional customer service, and effectively managing front desk operations.
Hours of work is on a 5 day rotating roster to cover 7 days per week, from 9am to 6pm. This may vary after discussion and mutual agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Services:
· Greet and welcome guests with a professional and friendly demeanour.
· Provide comprehensive information regarding apartment amenities, local attractions, and check-in/check-out procedures.
· Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and requests via phone, email, and in-person.
· Manage luggage storage and assist with guest needs.
Front Desk Operations:
· Answer and direct incoming calls efficiently and courteously.
· Maintain accurate records within the property management system.
· Process payments using EFTPOS.
· Process and manage guest check-ins and check-outs.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable reception area.
· Manage the concierge calendar.
Administrative Support:
· Assist the reservations department with guest inquiries and bookings.
· Handle guest communications and resolve any issues that may arise.
· Other administrative tasks as required by management.
· Linen stock management and maintenance, including online ordering
· Prepare quotes when the Reservations Team is unavailable.
· Any other reasonable task assigned by Management within the scope of the position function.
Key Selection Criteria:
· Valid right to work in Australia.
· Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
· Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Professional appearance and demeanour.
· Ability to engage with guests and effectively manage groups of people.
· Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Calendar, Google Docs, and WhatsApp.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Flexibility and willingness to learn.
