Lucas House and Garden is seeking an experienced Garden Maintenance Department Manager to take charge of our maintenance operations and leave your mark.
We have thorough and detailed processes in place to service in excess of 500 residential gardens but there is autonomy in the role to develop the team, systems, our culture and outcomes for our clients.
The Role
As Maintenance Department Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of our maintenance division, leading a dedicated team and ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You’ll be responsible for:
Leading, motivating, and developing the maintenance team
Scheduling, planning, and allocating maintenance works
Management and oversight of the Sales team
Coordinating equipment, tools, and resources to maximise efficiency
Building strong client relationships and ensuring service excellence
Monitoring quality, safety, and compliance standards
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
Experienced in residential maintenance with a solid horticultural background
A confident and driven leader with proven people management skills
Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
Skilled at balancing client expectations with operational priorities
Committed to safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement

We are a complete and end to end horticultural service with Landscape Architects, Construction Teams and Horticulturalists providing Design, Construction and Maintenance.
Skills & Experience:
Residency: Must live in Australia and have full work rights.
Experience: At least 10+ years of high-end garden maintenance experience with a proven management record focused on people
Education: Certificate III in Horticulture or higher.
Knowledge: Outstanding horticultural skills are a must.
Positive Attitude: Enthusiastic and ready to inspire your team.
Dependable: Punctual, reliable, and honest.
People Person: Friendly with great communication skills.
Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to keep gardens looking flawless.
Extra Skills: Experience with irrigation systems and soft-landscaping is a bonus.
