About the role
Permanent full time and part time opportunity to provide expert cultural and clinical knowledge and care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women, babies and families and support a safe care environment
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Apply advanced clinical midwifery expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of woman and baby centred care.
- Support an evidence-based learning environment and participate in learning activities/opportunities for self and others.
- Act as an advocate for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander pregnant women and families, empowering women, and families to make informed decisions about their healthcare and working to address any barriers or challenges they may face within the healthcare system.
