Hazel Kitchen & Bar is a beautiful cafe / restaurant / events space within the grounds of the Hazelhurst Arts Centre in Gymea, Sutherland. We're about creativity, sharing good food and drinks, providing hospitality to a broad clientele with style & a smile.

Come lead our front of house crew, alongside a great kitchen & events team.

We need an experienced Cafe / Restaurant Manager to oversee the predominantly day time operations of our beautiful cafe / restaurant / bar.

Hazel is a family run business, sister to Audley Dance Hall. Hazel is located in the Hazelhurst Arts Centre surrounded by Art & overlooking the beautiful 2 acres of gardens, a hidden oasis between Cronulla & Sutherland.

Seating 120 pax inside with all weather awnings covering another 80 pax outside.

As the Manager, you will be responsible for leading the FOH team of passionate hospitality crew and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service.

This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

Manage all aspects of the operations, including staffing, inventory and customer service

Implement strategies to drive sales, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall customer experience

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the team

Work with the events team to develop and manage mixture of events within the restaurant & across the grounds.

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

Liaise with suppliers, manage inventory, and control costs to maintain profitability

Monitor and analyse key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement

Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar Cafe / Restaurant Manager role or related hospitality management position

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to foster a positive dining experience

Open to learn financial management, including budgeting, inventory control, and cost-saving measures

Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and operational best practices

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional service
