Salary Band - $75,000 to $80,000

Bendooley Estate is located in the picturesque southern highlands of NSW. The Estate offers guests a number of opportunities to enjoy the local hospitality, including being a leading venue for weddings, boasting a vineyard for wine tastings, a paradise for book lovers and an admired rural retreat with exquisite cottage accommodation.

Our A La Carte luncheon restaurant is one of the busiest within the highlands and critical to everything we offer and do.

The Book Barn comprises 150+ seated restaurant, open 7 days for lunches and converts to an events space at night for functions and weddings.

The Role

Bendooley is seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager, full time to join and lead the team.

- You will be responsible for overseeing and running the restaurant on a daily basis as well as overseeing evening events as needed

- Accurately maintaining an effective booking and reservations system for the restaurant ensuring maximum bookings are captured in conjunction with the Reservations Manager

- Ensure rosters are posted in a timely manner, they are compliant with the guiding award, they are covering business needs and they are achieving established labour costs

- Ensure all new team members are inducted, trained and coached in line with the restaurant standards of service and guidelines

- Recruit and hire all team members consistent with current recruitment legislation and Bendooley guidelines

- Liaise with the chef in charge regarding daily menu items and alerts, brief all staff daily

- Undertake regular team briefings, to ensure all staff are aware of Bendooley programmes, events and opportunities

Your experience:

- You will have at least two years of relevant restaurant management experience, leading and managing a front of house team

- You will have and display exceptional customer service skills

- A qualification is desirable but not essential in restaurant management,

- Events management experience would be an advantage

- You will hold a valid NSW RSA Certificate

- Have your own transportation

- Have the ability to coach and mentor our young team

- You will display strong planning, communication and leadership skills and experience

· You will be required to work weekends and evenings as part of the role
