Universal Restaurant is seeking an organised and experienced Front of House Supervisor to join us on a full-time basis, helping to lead our team and continue delivering the exceptional service we’ve been known for over the past 40 years.

Located in the heart of Carlton on vibrant Lygon Street, we’re one of Melbourne’s most loved local casual Italian dining destinations!

Duties & responsibilities:

Oversee the front of house to ensure all customers receive outstanding service

Maintain quality standards across all service areas

Be the go-to problem solver for operational issues during service

Provide support and guidance to staff throughout shifts

Run the show in the absence of the restaurant manager

Attend regular team meetings to align with broader business goals

Train, mentor, and motivate team members to perform at their best

Experience & qualifications:

RSA certification

Prior experience in a hospitality supervisor or management role

Strong leadership and communication skills

Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively with the team

Calm under pressure, with great problem-solving skills

A passion for hospitality and customer service
