About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join a Federal Government agency in Canberra. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical documentation, process mapping, and turning complex requirements into clear artefacts. You will play a key role in supporting data and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Create clear and accurate technical and process documentation.

Translate stakeholder discussions into actionable requirements.

Prepare documentation for Proof of Concept, Pilot, RFQ, and tender packs (scope, objectives, success criteria, diagrams, etc.).

Perform gap analysis and document current/future-state processes, systems, and data flows (ETL, APIs, Cloud).

Support rollout readiness including data migration documentation and transition planning.

Use tools such as Visio and Confluence to prepare process maps, swimlane diagrams, and data flow specifications.

Essential Skills

Skilled in technical documentation and visualisation tools (Visio, Confluence).

Strong business analysis experience with a documentation focus.

Familiarity with data lakes, reporting tools, ETL processes, APIs, metadata, and cloud platforms.

Detail-oriented, structured, and able to work independently.

Contract Details

Duration: 6 months, with a 6-month extension option

Location: Canberra (onsite, minimum 3 days/week)

Security clearance: Not required
