Salary: $125,000 – $170,000.00 + Super + bonus (depending on experience)
Hybrid working model - 4 days in office/1 day from home

About the Role We’re seeking a seasoned Cyber Security Assurance Engineer - Detection & Response Engineer to join our clients growing Cyber Defense team. This role sits within the Assurance pillar - one of four key areas in our clients cyber defense strategy and plays a critical part in proactive threat hunting and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute incident response (IR) activities—this is a mandatory skillset.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting and detection across enterprise environments.
• Serve as an escalation point in the on-call roster (approx. once per quarter).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability uplift (desirable)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve detection and response tooling.
• Contribute to the development of playbooks, runbooks, and automation strategies.
• Support the team in building a strong cyber assurance culture.

About You

• 3-5+ years of experience in cyber security, with a strong focus on detection and response.
• Proven experience in incident response and threat hunting.
• Strong problem solving skills and accountability mindset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to hit the ground running.
• Hands-on experience with security tools is highly desirable.
