More About the Role:
As a Community Occupational Therapist with BodyRight Healthcare, you’ll have the opportunity to provide crucial support to a diverse client base within the Home Care Packages program. The role will involve working closely with elderly clients, providing home visits and ensuring their functional needs are met through:
Evidence-based assessments of a client’s capacity and function in both their home and the community
Holistic care for those with chronic conditions such as neurological, musculoskeletal, and degenerative disorders
Personalized equipment and assistive technology prescriptions to support activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal activities of daily living (PADLs)
Home modification recommendations to improve safety and independence
Collaboration with families, support coordinators, personal care workers, and external providers to ensure the best outcomes for clients
This is a mobile role, where you can plan your week around home visits, report writing, and team meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients in their homes and community settings
Identifying assistive technology needs and prescribing equipment solutions
Developing individualized care plans and home modification recommendations
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic client care
Report writing and maintaining detailed client documentation
Engaging with clients, families, and carers to provide support and education
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist (ideally with Home Care Packages, CHSP, STRC, NDIS or similar)
Excellent report writing skills and communication (both written and verbal)
Experience in prescribing assistive aids and equipment and understanding the process
A strong foundation in delivering evidence-based interventions for chronic conditions
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy
AHPRA registration
Current police check, drivers licence, and eligibility to work in Australia
