We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. We are looking for someone on a part time basis (anything from 1- 3 days would be fine - with scope to grow if you're interested) and are happy to offer flexible work arrangements. The role would involve providing Occupational Therapy services - predominantly for older people / in the Aged Care sector - for people who have home care packages and who still live independently in their own home. There would also be work available working with those recovering from surgery and occasional work in the NDIS area. It’s a mobile role, so there will be a little travel involved – we can tailor referrals to your location to make it easier. We generally work with adults and older people. The role will offer a varied caseload with a level of autonomy.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the functional abilities, limitations, and needs of older people

Collaborate with clients, families, and support teams to set realistic and client-centered goals.

Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to enhance activities of daily living (ADLs) and improve fine and gross motor skills.

Recommend and assist in the procurement of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.

Educate and train clients, families, and support networks on strategies to promote independence.

Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client care.

Maintain accurate records of assessments, intervention plans, and progress notes.

Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring access to appropriate services and support.

Stay informed about current research and engage in ongoing professional development.

Provide services which comply with Move Healthcare’s policies and procedures and supports the achievement of Move Healthcare’s mission.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving people’s lives, helping them achieve their goals and maintaining their independence

We require someone who is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist

Ideally we are looking for someone who has worked with older people before
