Accounts Officer / Bookkeeper with Management Accounting Experience

We are a busy plumbing company looking for an Accounts Guru who’s great with numbers and has management accounting experience. If you like keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and helping a business stay on top of the financials, this role could be a great fit.

What you’ll be doing

Handling the day-to-day bookkeeping – invoices, bills, payroll, bank recs, and all the usual bits

Making sure BAS, GST, PAYG, and super are sorted and lodged on time

Working with our external accountant and helping the directors understand the numbers

Retention management (cash and bank guarantees)

Assist in preparing budgets & job costing reports, so we can keep projects & divisions within the business on track (through use of Simpro and Xero)

Pulling together management reports to help us see how the business is performing.

Maintaining our Overhead Calculator to ensure costs are accurately captured

Keeping our systems and processes organised so the field team can focus on plumbing.

What we’re looking for

• Solid bookkeeping experience, ideally with management accounting experience

• Confidence using accounting software (Xero).

• Experience with SimPRO would be a huge plus (or willingness to learn).

• Someone who’s detail-focused, organised, and reliable.

• Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.

• A good communicator who can explain numbers in plain English.
