Posted 13 days ago
About Us
Operating since 2009, Commercial Sheet Metal is a trusted supplier of rainwater goods, flashings, and custom sheet metal solutions across South East Queensland. With a busy workshop, a fleet of four delivery vehicles, and a solid customer base, we pride ourselves on reliability, service, and quality.
The Role
We are seeking an Office Coordinator to take ownership of logistics, customer service, and purchasing. This is a full-time office-based role (8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday), working closely with our small office team.
Your day-to-day work will focus on:
Top Priorities
Scheduling & Logistics – Plan daily runs for our 4 delivery vehicles (2 runs per day), finalise schedules each afternoon for the following morning, and arrange vehicle maintenance as required.
Customer Contact – Act as first point of contact for calls and walk-ins, answer and screen queries, negotiate delivery requests, and provide product information to customers.
Purchasing – Order consumables, manage custom parts, and coordinate buy-in products/services (e.g., laser cutting, powder coating, galvanising) including drop-off/collection of these in our truck runs.
Additional Responsibilities
Data Entry (MYOB) – Enter customer orders accurately, applying correct product codes.
Quoting (MYOB) – Prepare quotes, ensuring complete and accurate customer information.
What We're Looking For
Experience in the rainwater goods / flashings sector, or broader sheet metal / building products industry.
Familiarity with MYOB or similar systems for order entry and quoting.
Strong communication skills — confident on the phone and in person with the ability to interact with our factory staff as well as customers.
Organised, proactive, and able to juggle multiple priorities - high time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Advantageous: exposure to order processing and production scheduling (even if not the core of this role, it would be highly regarded).
Why Join Us
Be part of a close-knit team of two in the office, with real ownership of your role.
Stable, Monday–Friday hours.
Exposure to a variety of tasks, not just "one slice" of the process.
Opportunity to grow into broader responsibilities across office and production scheduling.
