About the role

The Private Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse or an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our nursing team in Surry Hills, NSW. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the reprocessng and sterilisation of surgical instruments, ensuring the highest standards of infection control, instrument traceability, and patient safety are upheld.

The Private Clinic is a reproductive healthcare clinic which offers surgical and medical termination of pregnancy, and insertions of IUDs under IV sedation. Our small and dedicated team of nurses and doctors are passionate about the services that we provide and the successful applicant must share our passion.

You must be available to work on our regular procedural days, including Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays.

What you'll be doing

Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, wrap and sterilise medical instruments according to relevant standards and protocols

Maintain accurate record keeping and sterilisation documentation related to the sterilisation process and ensuring traceability from patient to instrument and sterilisation batch

Set up theatre instruments for procedures using sterile technique.

Assist clinicians during procedures. This may involve

Assist patients before and after procedures.

Assist in the management and organisation of the clinic's infection control processes

Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and infection control procedures

What we're looking for

The ideal applicant will have experience in Sterilisation, Medical Device Reprocessing or a knowledge of sterilising standards AS 4187 or AS 5369.

You must share our passion for women’s health and have a commitment to provide non-judgmental, compassionate care.

Experience working in a clinical setting.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with medical staff

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and infection control protocols

Current Australian nursing registration and valid Australian work rights are mandatory requirements
