About the role

Lawn-Scapes' is seeking Roadways Grass Cutting Operators to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. This is a casual role, providing opportunity for career progression for the right candidates. As a Roadways Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining Council roadside grass cutting Southwest of the Brisbane CBD, ensuring they are safe and accessible for the community.

What you'll be doing

Perform daily maintenance: clean decks, check fluids, tighten fasteners; log and report defects.

Assess each roadway site for vehicle and pedestrian risks and deploy traffic-control measures (barriers, signage, flaggers) per QLD legislation and AS 1742 standards.

Operating machinery and equipment, such as bruscutters, zero-turn mowers, tractor mowers, brush cutters, spray rigs and slashers.

Herbicide application.

Collaborating with the broader team to identify and prioritise maintenance needs.

Adhering to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.

What we're looking for

Current Queensland C Class driver's licence (mandatory).

Minimum 6 months' experience in brush cutting or mower operation (Reference is required).

Experience driving with a trailer, including loading and unloading machines and equipment.

Proven proficiency in operating grass cutting machinery and equipment.

Chemical handling licence and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (desirable).

Physically fit, able to work unsupervised in varied, outdoor conditions.

Strong communication, problem-solving skills and commitment to quality.
