Green Light Worldwide is partnered with and assiting our client, a leading provider of integrated infrastructure services across Australia and New Zealand. Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer to deliver a cyber-hardened, integrated, sustainable, and networked mission system that enables the Defence Force to enhance it's capability.

The Systems Engineer will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:

• Engage with stakeholders—including business units, operations teams, and technical leads—to identify and capture functional and non-functional requirements.
• Conduct workshops, interviews, and technical reviews to ensure a thorough understanding of system needs and constraints.
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear, concise, and testable system requirements and specifications.
• Refine and validate requirements to ensure alignment with project objectives, technical feasibility, and existing architectural patterns.
• Maintain requirement traceability matrices (RTMs) to track requirement.

Skills & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification i.e. Bachelor of Engineering.
• Experience working in Defence as a Systems Engineer, managing technical aspects of project delivery.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with ability to present and engage with both internal and external stakeholders and Projects.
• Experience working within the Defence environment.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Defence Capability Lifecycle Projects.

Expected Work Arrangements

• Mon – Fri business hours, 40-hour standard working week, occasional overtime by agreement.
• Canberra (Barton)/Sydney (Pitt Street) based (on-site) required.
• DSN access will be required.

Security Clearance

• Have and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance before commencement of work.

Role Information

• Must be an Australian Citizen to Apply.
• 12-Month Initial Contract.
• Hourly Rate.
