Experienced Commercial Insurance Account Executive required for a Melbourne-based brokerage

An established and respected insurance brokerage is seeking a driven and experienced Account Manager to join their Melbourne-based General Insurance division. Your new role
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate and commercial insurance clients, focusing on both retention and new business development. You'll provide expert advice, negotiate renewals, manage claims, and ensure compliance across all facets of broking. This is a client-facing role requiring strong relationship management skills to maintain a book of work, and a proactive approach to portfolio growth.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing renewals, endorsements, and claims for a diverse portfolio
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Identifying uninsured risks and negotiating favourable terms
- Providing strategic advice and market insights to clients
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies
- Utilising broking systems including Insight, Sunrise, SVU and insurer platforms
- Supporting business development and cross-marketing initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 5 years' experience in insurance broking, with a preferable focus on corporate and commercial
- Tier-1 accreditation (mandatory)
- Diploma in Financial Services - Insurance Broking (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of broking systems and online quoting platforms
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and time management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- A customer-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence
