Position: Senior Accountant (Mandarin Speaking)

Salary: AUD 110K + Super

About the Role We are seeking a Mandarin-speaking Senior Accountant to take ownership of the company’s financial reporting, accounting, taxation, and budgeting activities. This is a hands-on role in a complex operating environment, requiring strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to liaise with auditors, consultants, and group finance.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Reporting

• Manage all aspects of accounting, including AP, AR, banking, payroll, inventory, and fixed assets.
• Maintain General Ledger and ensure accurate journal entries and monthly management accounts.
• Prepare reconciliations (bank, general ledger, fixed asset register).
• Prepare financial statements and disclosures under IFRS for shareholder consolidation.
• Manage external auditor relationships and support internal/external audits.

Tax

• Prepare tax workings and reports.
• Lodge monthly BAS, GST, and Payroll Tax statements.
• Liaise with tax consultants and provide workings to support corporate tax filings.

Budgeting & Planning

• Lead long-term planning, annual budgeting, and updates per shareholder standards.
• Maintain and update financial models, including variance and performance analysis.
• Provide ad hoc analysis, benchmarking, and business performance reviews.

Financing & Debt Management

• Manage drawdown/repayment of debt facilities.
• Execute IRS/FX hedges to manage interest rate and FX risks.
• Monitor compliance with financing covenants and lender requirements.
• Maintain working relationships with lenders and finance agents.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification; CA/CPA qualified.
• Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in financial and commercial accounting (energy/renewables sector or Big4 experience desirable).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, hedge accounting, and Australian tax laws.
• Proficiency in MYOB and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Strong audit, tax, and financial reporting knowledge.
• Ability to work independently in a multinational environment.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English (mandatory).
