Robata is a gem of Melbourne's restaurant scene, and undoubtedly one of our city's finest Japanese grills. Sitting at the corner of Flinders & Exhibition St in the historic Herald Sun building, our prime location means that the CBD is on your doorstep when it’s time to treat yourself in town!

As a Casual Bar Salesperson, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service in our high-energy venue, ensuring every guest has a great experience. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in beverage service, sales, and hospitality, with room for growth within our restaurant group.

You’ll be responsible for engaging with customers, preparing and serving drinks to a high standard, and confidently upselling to enhance the guest experience. As we’re looking for someone to cross-train, floor experience is an asset, giving you the chance to expand your skill set across both bar and front-of-house operations. This is the perfect role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys customer interaction, and wants to grow within a supportive and dynamic team.

Think you’ve got what it takes?

The ideal candidate will have:

Full working rights - Citizen or PR preferred, otherwise 2+ years left on temporary visa

Availability Thursday - Saturday all day. 15 hours per week minimum. Happy to be flexible with special occasions and events of course, but we require someone consistently available for weekends going into summer. No travel plans over November/December.

Minimum 2 years experience in a fast paced cocktail heavy environment.

Technical skills: Able to shake multiple cocktails at a time & confident with cocktail tins. Able to consistently produce high quality cocktails at high speeds (looking at 1 to 1.5min per cocktail).

Able to stay calm and focused under pressure.

Sharp attention to detail.

Ability to confidently serve drinks, operate a POS system, and handle transactions accurately.

Strong upselling skills and a passion for creating great customer experiences.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.
