Chef – Roles and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute preparation and presentation of meals to a high standard of taste and appearance
Monitor food production and portion control to minimize waste
Design, update, and cost menus in consultation with management
Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high performance and adherence to food safety practices
Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with dietary needs and special requests (e.g., vegetarian, gluten-free)
Maintain stock levels and place orders with suppliers when required
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in all kitchen areas
Monitor and maintain equipment and kitchen facilities for safety and efficiency
Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and workplace health and safety policies
Liaise with restaurant management to ensure smooth daily operations.
Cook – Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu standards
Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place
Follow safe food handling and hygiene practices at all times
Ensure food quality, freshness, and presentation standards are met
Work cooperatively in a team environment to deliver high-quality food service
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Follow stock rotation and assist in inventory checks
Support chefs in executing daily kitchen tasks and assist during peak hours
Requirements for Both Roles:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen environment
Certificate III & IV Commercial cookery is required.
Strong knowledge in Indian Cuisine.
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent teamwork, time management, and communication skills
Availability to work on weekends and public holidays as required
