Flyover is a fast-growing hospitality brand that has been redefining Indian food in Australia for over 8 years. Located in Redfern, our award-winning 50-seat eatery is a vibrant and contemporary space celebrating the bold flavours of Indian street food and vegetarian home-style cooking.
We operate 5 days a week:
Dinner: Wed–Fri
Lunch & Dinner: Sat–Sun
Our menu of small plates and curated drinks is served with warmth and attention to detail. We're now looking for a qualified Sous Chef with a keen interest in Indian food, strong leadership skills, and the drive to support our continued growth.
What You'll Bring
A passion for Indian cuisine and creative energy to elevate our seasonal menus
Minimum 6 months of commercial Indian cuisine experience is essential
Contribute to building a leading brand for Indian food and pantry goods in Australia
Proven ability to lead and inspire a kitchen team
Minimum 5 years of sous chef or senior kitchen leadership experience
Strong focus on quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction
Experience operating a high-volume kitchen
Organisational skills to manage the kitchen's day-to-day operations
Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification required
Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
Key Responsibilities
Lead menu development with creativity and consistency
Oversee food preparation and quality control across all services
Supervise and support kitchen and back-of-house team
Manage ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships
Ensure kitchen complies with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations
Support training, recruitment, and staff development
Manage kitchen admin, including budgeting, costing, and planning
Maintain a clean, efficient, and well-organised workspace
Lead by example with a positive, solutions-focused approach
