Rockshore Bistro (formerly known as Eight on the Beach) is Rockingham’s premier café and restaurant, celebrated for serving Modern Australian cuisine with a focus on fresh, local, and seasonal produce. Our menu — carefully crafted to highlight flavourful, high-quality dishes — is designed to complement a relaxed and welcoming foreshore atmosphere. From fresh oysters to premium steaks and vibrant salads, our offerings reflect culinary creativity and seasonal inspiration.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook Modern Australian dishes, using fresh, seasonal produce from our curated menu

Ensure consistent quality, portion control, and appealing presentation

Assist with stock management, ordering, and minimising food waste

Uphold strict food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards

Mentor and supervise junior kitchen staff and trainees

Collaborate with the Head Chef and management on menu innovation, specials, and customer experience

Essential Requirements

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)

Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Chef in a fast-paced café or restaurant environment

Strong knowledge of Modern Australian cuisine and passion for fresh ingredients

Excellent organisational and time management skills

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards

Creative, detail-oriented, and a genuine team player
