Job Description
- 0.6 FTE | Maximum term until June 2027
- Based in Dandenong VIC, on the lands of the Boon Wurrung People
- From $38.83 per hour (Level 3, SACS) + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550
Headspace Dandenong is part of Each’s Youth Mental Health team, supporting young people and their families to access mental health, alcohol and other drug, and community services. Our team is passionate about creating safe, inclusive spaces and building strong connections with multicultural communities.
Your role, your impact
As a Multicultural Community Engagement Worker, you’ll play a vital role in connecting young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with mental health support. You’ll help shape community engagement, lead youth participation, and build partnerships that reduce stigma and promote early help-seeking.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and support the Youth Reference Group (3D Youth) to ensure genuine youth engagement in headspace Dandenong.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with multicultural communities, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Represent headspace Dandenong at community events, forums, and meetings.
- Co-design and deliver psychoeducation and skills-based programs for young people, families, and carers.
- Collaborate with clinical, peer, and outreach teams to deliver community information and education sessions.
- Promote early help-seeking and reduce stigma in CALD communities through education and engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting processes in a timely manner.
- Work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends as required.
Who we’re looking for
- Current State-based driving license (mandatory)
- Experience working with young people and multicultural communities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in community engagement.
- Ability to develop and facilitate group programs.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Technology literacy and sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.

What will make you stand out
- Diploma in Community Services, Mental Health, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with group facilitation.
- Community language skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to human rights and social justice.
- Understanding of family violence, trauma-informed care, cultural diversity, intersectionality, marginalisation, and implicit bias.
- Experience in managing social media platforms to promote early help seeking behaviour and mental health awareness
