Title: School‑based Accounting Assistant (Years 11–12) – Casual
Location: Brisbane City (opposite Central Station)

What you’ll do

Prepare and code source documents; maintain accurate digital files

Perform bank reconciliations and assist with AP/AR processing

Support payroll processing, including terminations and payroll tax basics

Help prepare BAS workpapers and simple business tax return data packs

Enter and check data in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and Reckon

Follow checklists, document your work clearly and meet agreed deadlines

Communicate professionally with the team and (as you progress) with clients

Handle confidential information with discretion

What you’ll bring

Academic: Consistently high grades, especially in Accounting/Business and English (Year 11 or 12)

Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organised, efficient and keen to learn

Balance: Well‑rounded with involvement in music, sport or community activities

Hours & flexibility

1–3 afternoons on school days (typ. 2–4 hrs per shift)

Extra hours available in school holidays

Flexibility around exams and school commitments

Training & progression

Structured onboarding, checklists and CPA‑led mentoring

Exposure to multiple industries and modern accounting systems

A clear pathway to continue with us part‑time during university, with growing responsibility to completing your CPA accreditation and registered tax agent licence.

Commitment

To justify the investment in training and systems access, we’re seeking an intention to stay a minimum of 3 years (if in Year 12) or 4 years (if in Year 11).
