Houseboat:

• In conjunction with housekeeping staff, facilitate houseboat usage including cleaning, maintenance, refuelling & effluent disposal;

• Engine & battery checks including operation;

• Check water pumps for correct operation, check fire extinguishers, lifebuoys and life jackets; Check navigation lights, generators, audio-visual system;

• Provide accurate and friendly check-in and check-out of guests on-site on the houseboats; Demonstrate to owners and guests the use and operation of the houseboats including an instructional cruise;

• Ensure owners/guests are familiar with emergency procedures and safety operations;

• Drive houseboats through the lock as required;

• Meet owners/guests when they return from their cruise and discuss any technical problems or issues encountered during the week.

This casual position is worked primarily Thursdays and Fridays. This position may also be rostered in the role of “On Call” for out of hours (including weekend) emergency service provision. Additional hours may be required from time to time, depending on workload. Public holiday and weekend rosters also require maintenance staff on rotation at times.
