A well-established Australian manufacturer with over 80 years of experience supplying the chemical industry is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join their team in Wetherill Park. This is a full-time, permanent role offering stability, variety, and the opportunity to work within a leading organisation that values safety, reliability, and high performance.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Maintenance Leading Hand, the Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site. This hands-on role will involve troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing repairs, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, all while maintaining a strong safety focus.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance across plant and equipment

Perform troubleshooting and repairs on manufacturing processes and machinery to minimise downtime

Conduct risk assessments for maintenance activities and ensure safety procedures are followed

Support shutdown planning and maintenance scheduling

Undertake mechanical trade tasks such as welding, fabrication, installation, commissioning, lubrication, and machining

Accurately record all maintenance activities in the MEX system

Assist with maintenance stores, including handling heavy goods, stocking shelves, and moving pallets with a forklift

What We're Looking For

Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter with proven experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical industry experience highly regarded)

Strong troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance skills across plant equipment

Welding, fabrication, and machining competencies

Solid understanding of safe work practices and permit systems

Forklift licence desirable (or willingness to obtain)

Ability to work collaboratively within a maintenance team and liaise effectively across departments
